Tyler Goodlet 28db478da1 Adjust to `trio`'s strict eg nurseries throughout!
Using `tractor.trionics.collapse_eg()` as needed to avoid, at the least,
crash-worthy (in debug-mode REPL-ing terms) nested cancellation egs that
exhibit on SIGINT/ctl-c of each "app" (chart & daemon).

Also a bit of renaming of all `trio.Nursery`s to `tn`, the new "task
nursery" shorthand-var-name being used in all our other `tractor`
related projects.

Tyler Goodlet 8d324acf91 First (untested) draft remote annotation ctl API
Since we can and want to eventually allow remote control of pretty much
all UIs, this drafts out a new `.ui._remote_ctl` module with a new
`@tractor.context` called `remote_annotate()` which simply starts a msg
loop which allows for (eventual) initial control of a `SelectRect`
through IPC msgs.

Remote controller impl deats:
- make `._display.graphics_update_loop()` set a `._remote_ctl._dss:
  dict` for all chart actor-global `DisplayState` instances which can
  then be controlled from the `remote_annotate()` handler task.
- also stash any remote client controller `tractor.Context` handles in
  a module var for broadband IPC cancellation on any display loop
  shutdown.
- draft a further global map to track graphics object instances since
  likely we'll want to support remote mutation where the client can use
  the `id(obj): int` key as an IPC handle/uuid.
- just draft out a client-side `@acm` for now: `open_annots_client()` to
  be filled out in up coming commits.

UI component tweaks in support of the above:
- change/add `SelectRect.set_view_pos()` and `.set_scene_pos()` to allow
  specifying the rect coords in either of the scene or viewbox domains.
  - use these new apis in the interaction loop.
- add a `SelectRect.add_to_view()` to avoid having annotation client
  code knowing "how" a graphics obj needs to be added and can instead
  just pass only the target `ChartView` during init.
- drop all the status label updates from the display loop since they
  don't really work all the time, and probably it's not a feature we
  want to keep in the longer term (over just console output and/or using
  the status bar for simpler "current state / mkt" infos).
  - allows a bit of simplification of `.ui._fsp` method APIs to not pass
    around status (bar) callbacks as well!

read-check in the `.data.allocate_persisten_feed()` init to cope with
possible racy-ness from the increased tsdb history loading concurrency
now implemented.

Tyler Goodlet dd0167b9a5 Make `fsp.cascade()` expect src/dst `Flume`s
Been meaning to this for a while, and there's still a few design
/ interface kinks (like `.mkt: MktPair` which should be better
generalized?) but this flips over all of the fsp chaining engine
to operate on the higher level `Flume` APIs via the newly cobbled
`Cascade` thinger..

Tyler Goodlet 5ed8544fd1 Bleh, move `.data.types` back up to top level pkg
Since it's depended on by `.data` stuff as well as pretty much
everything else, makes more sense to expose it as a top level module
(and maybe eventually as a subpkg as we add to it).

Tyler Goodlet 5e7916a0df Start `piker.toolz` subpkg for all our tooling B)
Since there's a growing list of top level mods which are more or less
utils/tools for working with the runtime; begin to move them into a new
subpkg starting with a new `.toolz.debug`.

Start with,
- a new `open_crash_handller()` for doing breakpoints around blocks that
  might error.
- move in what was `piker._profile` into `.toolz.profile` and adjust all
  importing appropriately.

Tyler Goodlet 9eeea51165 Define shm buffer sizing in `.data.history`
Also adjust sizing such that the history buffer will backfill the last
six years by default (in 1m OHLC) and the hft buffer will do only 3 days
worth. Also ensure the fsp layer passes the src shm's buffer size when
allocating since the size is now required by allocators in the shm apis.

Tyler Goodlet 1b577eebf6 Change over the UI layer to use `MktPair`
Including changing to `LinkedSplits.mkt: MktPair` and adding an explicit
setter method for setting it and being sure that nothing breaks
in the display system init!

For this commit we leave in warning access to `LinkedSplits.symbol` but
will remove in following commit.

Tyler Goodlet 8e97814c1f Add "no vlm" indication to `FeedInit`
Stash it for now in the (now mutable by default) `.shm_write_opts` and
have the new `Flume._has_vlm: bool` (only set to false internally by
feed layer) which can be read via new public `.has_vlm()` predicate.
Move out the old `.ui/_fsp` helper logic to this flume method.

Tyler Goodlet c690e141e1 Don't unset `Viz.render` for unit vlm
Such that we still y-range auto-sort inside

Tyler Goodlet 9930f25ad3 Move axis hiding into `.overlay_plotitem()`
Since we pretty much always want the 'bottom' and any side that is not
declared by the caller move the axis hides into this method. Lets us
drop the same calls in `.ui._fsp` and `._display`.

This also disables the auto-ranging back-linking for now since it
doesn't seem to be working quite yet?

Tyler Goodlet 33df4f9927 Return `in_view: bool` from `Viz.update_graphics()`
Allows callers to know if they should care about a particular viz
rendering call by immediately knowing if the graphics are in view. This
turns out super useful particularly when doing dynamic y-ranging overlay
calcs.

Tyler Goodlet a3bbbeda9d Drop `ChartView._maxmin()` usage in `.ui._fsp`
Removes the multi-maxmin usage as well as ensures appropriate `Viz` refs
are passed into the view methods now requiring it. Also drops the "back
linking" of the vlm chart view to the source OHLC chart since we're
going to add this as a default to the charting API.

Tyler Goodlet 934b32c342 Use `Viz` over charts where possible in display loop
Since `ChartPlotWidget.update_graphics_from_flow()` is more or less just
a call to `Viz.update_graphics()` try to call that directly where
possible.

Changes include:
- calling the viz in the display state specific `maxmin()`.
- passing a viz instance to each `ChartView._set_yrange()` call (in prep
  of explicit group auto-ranging); not that this input is unused in the
  method for now.
- drop `bars_range` var passing since we don't use it.

Tyler Goodlet 86d09d9305 Rename `Flow` -> `Viz`
The type is better described as a "data visualization":
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_and_information_visualization

Add `ChartPlotWidget.get_viz()` to start working towards not accessing
the private table directly XD

We'll probably end up using the name `Flow` for a type that tracks
a collection of composed/cascaded `Flume`s:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-port_network#Cascade_connection
2023-02-12 13:39:10 -05:00
Tyler Goodlet 8d592886fa Pass `Flume`s throughout FSP-ui and charting APIs
Since higher level charting and fsp management need access to the
new `Flume` indexing apis this adjusts some func sigs to pass through
(and/or create) flume instances:
- `LinkedSplits.add_plot()` and dependents.
- `ChartPlotWidget.draw_curve()` and deps, and it now returns a `Flow`.
- `.ui._fsp.open_fsp_admin()` and `FspAdmin.open_fsp_ui()` related
  methods => now we wrap the destination fsp shm in a flume on the admin
  side and is returned from `.start_engine_method()`.

Drop a bunch of (unused) chart widget methods including some already
moved to flume methods: `.get_index()`, `.in_view()`,
`.last_bar_in_view()`, `.is_valid_index()`.

Tyler Goodlet be24473fb4 Adjust remaining chart internals to pg extensions
Mainly this involves instantiating our overriden `PlotItem` in a few
places and tweaking type annots. A further detail is that inside
the fsp sub-chart creation code we hide some axes for overlays in the
flows subchart; these were previously somehow hidden implicitly?
